Building a personal brand is a never-ending process. The journey to becoming an influencer and expert in your industry is filled with many rewarding milestones. I got serious about building my personal brand in 2018 and my passion has only increased since. It’s been an amazing experience with many ups and downs but filled with many valuable lessons, most important of which is to always be hustling.
I have written about using social media to build a robust personal brand and the importance of creating content regularly. Social media is also a necessity in regard to promoting a business, a social cause, or any other entity. It’s a great way to build awareness, create a community, sell products and services and so much more. Social media can be used as a tool to achieve your goals so matter how high or low you set them. It is a great way to accelerate your success.
When you have been working with these social media platforms, your strategy will keep becoming clearer. You will begin to figure out what works and what doesn’t work for you. When you reach this stage, it is important to be careful that you don’t stop working on it and let it be automatic.
One of the things we tend to do when we reach a certain scale is get comfortable and put things into cruise control. When we are starting something new, we put in a lot of effort, experiment with different ideas, and hustle like crazy to attain growth. We often give up this hustle of our initial days which in my opinion is a mistake.
One of the things I have learned from my mentors is to “Be faithful to the small and the big will come.” It is important to remember that wherever we may be on our journey, we should never stop experimenting, making small adjustments and improving continuously. No matter how successful you become, there is more that you can do to improve your results.
Never stop the hustle and never stop learning. You are a shark and the thing with sharks is that if they stop moving forward, they die. Keep adapting your strategies and look for new opportunities for growth. It is never a good time to start slacking off and getting comfortable when it comes to using social media.
The “Never Stop Hustling” mindset works not only for social media but also for life. I like to learn new things and I love experimenting with different things. Sometimes, I learn things because of necessity, for example, I learned how to code because I needed it for my engineering degree. Other times, I learn things purely out of curiosity for example, I like learning new languages so when the opportunity presented itself I took up a Japanese course.
My mother has brought me up with a belief that nothing that you learn is ever wasted, it proves useful at one time or another. As a result, I am a big believer in continuously upgrading myself. So here’s what I have on my list of things I am exploring or have to explore:
- Chess
- Poker
- Basketball – currently pursuing
- Football
- Cooking – currently pursuing
- Golf
- Billiards
- Swimming
- Languages: Urdu, French (learning), Spanish, Italian and Japanese
- Communication and Public Speaking
- Standup Comedy
- Filmmaking
I would like to build a business dedicated to helping people reach their full potential and even build their own businesses. In addition, there are so many soft skills you need to make all these things happen because every day you step out of the house, is full of experiences and challenges. Why would you ever stop hustling? On the other hand, if you are getting a bit too comfortable, set yourself a new challenge, go forward, hustle, and crush it!
