Passion is the fuel that will drive your success for many years to come. It gets you pumped up every time you have the opportunity to devote your time to a cause. Pouring your efforts into that activity makes your eyes sparkle with joy. You are enthusiastic and energetic. There is a bounce in your step and swagger when you talk about that topic.
I like to do this exercise where I try and imagine what things would be like if seen in a silent film. I see someone positively bubbling with excitement, addressing a crowd of people listening with rapt attention. Can you picture the passionate person I described?
There is inherent yet visible happiness when someone is doing something they love. I have seen shy introverts transform when talking about their passion. Nothing is more fulfilling than when you live your passion every day.
People are drawn towards you when they see passion oozing out in your conduct. The kind of passion I am talking about can be contagious. It needs to be channelized and given an outlet.
I love to write and solve problems. I have thought about building my blog since I finished school in 2012. I never got started back then because building a website seemed daunting. It was more than fours later that I made my first blog. I wrote three articles on Tumblr. Then I created a WordPress website and paid 10 dollars for the domain. I wrote articles whenever I felt like it. I was inconsistent, but it was better than nothing. This blog is the fifth iteration of my website at the time of this writing.
The time is ripe for you to start living your passion every day. So many social media platforms, each with unique characteristics, make it super easy to get started. Now more than ever, it is easier to talk about your favourite topic to your heart’s content and thousands, and maybe millions, hear your message.
The key is to start creating content, whether through video, audio or text, whichever medium you prefer and do it consistently enough to build a community around you. The internet and the numerous social media platforms are perfect for you and me to gain visibility and attract followers.
I spent eight years honing my craft as a writer. I am getting better and can improve a lot in the future. A few projects are in the pipeline to make this website more attractive to my visitors. I want to think I am playing the game after sitting on the sidelines for almost a decade. I struggle with consistency and overthinking, so I know the struggle all too well.
I am a big believer in the notion that the next piece of content could put you on the map. You are just one post away from making it big at any time. There is a chance that if you show up regularly, someone who is a “somebody” will take notice and may present you with your next ample opportunity. Passion is contagious, and people can feel it when they see you.
It happens in creative industries with musicians, standup comics, painters and many others. They do get discovered and go on to make it big. Thanks to the internet, it can happen regardless of your passion. Over the last five years, the number of influencers has risen drastically, and the opportunities are endless. Your imagination only limits you.
I say it once again; Passion is Contagious. You must channel it and start creating content regularly to build a community. It could be your ticket to something huge.
