Yes, each one of us is a player. Everything is about power. In a duo, one person always has more power than the other. The entire game is about altering the power dynamic in your favor.

Even the people who are supposedly not interested are faking it. I have made the mistake of disregarding such people in the past simply because they are dear friends who wouldn’t dream of competing with me for a position.

I want to be upfront and direct about things, but the world doesn’t operate like that. There is much silent manipulation and politics, as some people call it. I like to avoid such things because they are not good for me. I, too, am interested in power and would love to play the game if I knew how.

Whenever I contested an election anywhere, I never knew how to play the game. I couldn’t even identify all the players and pieces involved. I admit it was naive of me.

I trusted people easily and had to learn the hard way that trust is not something to be given away but needs to be earned. I learned my lessons the hard way.
